Hello and welcome. Please have a look around and do get in touch if you would like to discuss working together. You will find out more about how I work below, along with costs and how to contact me. I look forward to meeting you.
About
Hello, I am Lynn (she/her), a psychotherapist in advanced clinical training. I work in-person with individual adults in the Aberdeen area.
I have completed 4 years core training with Physis Training in Edinburgh (now Physis Scotland) and am a EATA Contractual Trainee working towards my Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) qualification and UKCP accreditation. I am fully insured to work therapeutically with adults and am a registered member of UKATA, whose Code of Ethics I abide by.
I have over 30 years of experience in the education and social care sectors and have been working with clients therapeutically since 2016. I have regular supervision and maintain my professional development with CPD workshops, training and conferences.

Counselling and Psychotherapy
You may be considering counselling or psychotherapy as your old ways of coping are no longer working, or you may be experiencing a specific life event that you are finding a significant challenge. You may also be interested in exploring yourself and your ways of being in the world at a deeper level. I see my role as being alongside you on your journey, helping you to explore your personal history and looking at options for supporting yourself through your challenges.
Transactional Analysis, or TA for short, is a therapeutic model for counselling and psychotherapy, originated by Eric Berne in the 1960's. TA has evolved in recent years, and the basic tenets remain the same. TA works with our Parent, Adult and Child Ego States and the Life Scripts we write for ourselves. Through counselling and psychotherapy, we can understand ourselves and our challenges using these models. We can begin to see how our thinking, behaviours and feelings, have been shaped by our life experiences, especially those in our younger years. We may also recognise the impact these ways of being have in the here and now. One of the aims of TA is to maintain an I'm OK, You're OK position, and counselling and psychotherapy are good opportunities to put this principle into practice.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and will be at a regular agreed time slot. We can agree to work in the short term if there is a specific issue you would like to work on. We can also work with a more open ended contract, if you are interested in understanding your life patterns and facilitate change at a deeper level.
My client work encompasses issues including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, transitions, work stress, relationship difficulties and the many other challenges life offers us. Please get in touch by email or phone for an initial chat about the possibility of working together.
Cost for individual in-person session £50
